Vance DETONATES Fraud Claim On Omar DEMANDS Probe

Vice President JD Vance declared that Representative Ilhan Omar committed immigration fraud against the United States, demanding investigations into the Minnesota congresswoman as Somaliland publicly offered to accept her extradition. The explosive accusation revives longstanding allegations about Omar’s first marriage and connections to massive welfare fraud in her state.

White House Demands Investigation

Vance made the claims during a podcast interview with conservative host Benny Johnson, calling for prosecutors to build a case against the Squad member. The Vice President questioned what legal remedies exist now that Omar allegedly committed fraud, asking how authorities should investigate and pursue justice for American citizens. He also demanded answers about Omar’s knowledge of a billion-dollar human services fraud scheme in Minnesota that resulted in dozens of arrests, many involving Somali immigrants. Vance claimed Omar has been at the center of the massive welfare fraud operation.

Somaliland Offers Extradition

The self-governing territory of Somaliland responded provocatively on social media, suggesting that extradition rather than deportation would send the congresswoman back to her kingdom. The republic, which has operated independently since 1991 without formal U.S. recognition, took a direct swipe at Omar, who has opposed recognizing Somaliland as an independent nation. Most countries, including America, do not formally acknowledge Somaliland’s sovereignty despite its decades of self-governance. The republic’s official account made the extradition offer in response to Vance’s immigration fraud allegations.

Marriage Allegations Surface Again

Omar has faced persistent questions about her first marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a British national. Minneapolis-based Somali community leader Abdihakim Osman told media outlets in 2020 that Omar introduced Elmi as her brother from London to community members during the late 2000s. Osman, who grew up with Omar in Minnesota, recalled that she would tell people her supposed sibling was looking for papers, referring to immigration documents like green cards. The allegations have dogged the congresswoman for years, though she has denied wrongdoing.

What This Means

The Vice President’s public accusation represents the highest-level challenge yet to Omar’s immigration history and raises questions about potential federal investigations. Combined with the Minnesota welfare fraud probe and Somaliland’s provocative response, Omar faces mounting pressure from multiple directions. Whether federal prosecutors will pursue charges remains unclear, but Vance’s comments signal the White House intends to scrutinize the congresswoman’s past and her connections to fraud allegations in her home state.
